Buscioni Pasticceria: Baked Goods that will Warm Your Heart and Tummy in Florence, Italy

‘Tis the season to eat yummy baked goods, and the best place to do this is at Buscioni Pasticceria on Via Centostelle 1R. So when looking for a bakery as the days grow shorter, darker and colder, two things catch a discerning pastry fanatic’s eye.

First, is Buscioni’s red and white sign prominently displayed stating, “bomboloni caldi ore 16.30.” In English, this means “hot fresh donuts made daily at 4.30 pm.” There is no better way to brighten the dreariest winter day than with a warm donut filled with vanilla cream, chocolate cream or apricot jam. These go fast on a cold afternoon! The second thing to note are the words “produzione propria.” This means that all of the baked goods are made on the premises and the award winning pastry chef Cristiano Buscioni has quite a repertoire!

For the holiday season you can purchase miniature panettone, a fluffy sponge cake with pieces of candied fruit, or choose hand made marron glace, candied chestnuts. In addition, Buscioni is famous for its chocolates that come in the forms of brittle with nuts, chocolate covered fruit or cream filled chocolate candies. Buscioni is definitely a warm spot on a cold winter day!

Location: Via Centostelle 1/R, Firenze, Italia. Tel. 39-055-602765.
