Teatro del Sale: A Dramatic New
Florentine Dining Concept

From Fabio Picchi, owner of the well-known Florentine restaurant Il Cibreo, comes another innovative dining experience – Teatro del Sale. Part trattoria, theatre, social salon, boutique grocery and private club, this is a Tuscan culinary adventure you won’t want to miss! Purchase your membership for just 5 euros at the door, and tickets for dinner and a performance will run about 25 euros per person.
There are no menus or waiters, and breakfast, lunch and dinner are served buffet-style. Find such simple, yet delicious dishes as olive tapenade, sauteed fennel, saffron risotto, spaghetti with pesto, rigatoni with ricotta cheese, rack of lamb and desserts. Indulge in dinner, wine and lively conversation at the long communal tables. In fact, one of Teatro’s rules requires that members participate in an open exchange of news about restaurants in other cities, and of other culinary and philosophical finds.
The stage lights up with entertainment at 9:30 p.m., and may include poetry, interpretive dance, a Gershwin-playing pianist, vocalist/actress Maria Cassi and more.
Location: Via dei Macci, 111 R, Florence, Italy. Tel: 39-055-200-1492. Click here for more details.
