New Year’s Eve Idea No. 1: Wilson Creek Winery’s “White Hot Party” in San Diego

 

 

What better way to ring in the New Year than in a darling white dress, dancing in a vineyard decked out in the same glistening ivory, and enjoying a delectable five course dinner and Almond Champagne with friends?

Such a place exists just an hour north of San Diego at the Wilson Creek Winery in the Temecula Valley. The 20-acre estate is lovingly operated by multiple members of the Wilson family and the winery’s annual “White Hot” New Year’s Eve celebration is not to be missed. White tie and all white attire are encouraged, but your little black dress will work as well!

Enter the heated Pavilion and start the evening with a selection of gourmet white cheeses, fresh fruit with warm white chocolate dip, fennel and coriander crusted ahi drizzled with orange infused oil and much more. Then, enjoy a five course dinner featuring bacon wrapped diver scallops atop toasted Euro grain bread with oven dried tomatoes and chevre cheese sauce as the appetizer course, immediately followed by baby spinach tossed in a blackberry vinaigrette with shaved red onions, Wilson Creek Sherry soaked red grapes, crumbled feta and toasted walnuts. Savor basque braised range grown chicken served over warm root vegetable terrine and a Provencal sauce, followed by the entree course of slow roasted steak atop caramelized leek confit. Don’t forget to save room for dessert!
